Yailene Caicedo has pushed to fulfill the highest expression of herself as an artist. She began her training at Jo-Anna’s Dance Studio where she started learning Ballet, Jazz and Hip Hop. Being intrigued by this new found hobby, Yailene jumped on an immediate opportunity to dance competitively with AYC for the local Vikings team in Plainfield, NJ. Although Ballet had initially been her favored genre of dance – it was through Modern dance where she has truly been able to tell her very own story of dance. In 2022, Yailene began studying dance at Raritan Valley Community College where she is working hard to obtain her BFA in Dance. Recently, Yailene was invited to perform the Nutcracker as one of the main characters in the Community Winter showcase at Raritan. She had the honor to be a part of The Dance Connection Company. Dancing has taught Yailene that discipline and determination are essential in order to obtain success. Her experience through competitive dance has confirmed her theory that practice makes progress. Yailene has proudly received many awards for competing and dancing. This recognition fuels her to become better, practice more, and allow her passion to grow fonder. She is thrilled to continue acquiring a deeper knowledge of dance so that she may share all her lessons and mastery of the art with her students.
